Dragon Page "Wingin' It" grew out of Dragon Page "Between", which started as the show recorded "between" episodes of "Cover to Cover" and "Live Fire". When "Live Fire" was no longer airing on KFYI, the name "Between" didn't make sense anymore, so "Wingin' It" took flight.
What started as an experiment, to see if people would listen to an unprepped and uncensored live stream of podcasters drinking and chatting about whatever was on their minds after a long day of recording, turned into a bright, shining "lightning in a bottle" moment of sass, wit and occasional debauchery.
To everyone's amazement and amusement, the audience tuned in to listen live and kept listening again later to the edited recordings, and were both inspired and encouraged to submit their own segments for all to hear. Welcome to the show.
Originally a segment on Dragon Page "Wingin' It", "A Different Point of View" is a series of essays about the Star Wars Universe as seen through the eyes of lowly sandtrooper, TD-0013. It takes everything you thought you knew about the Star Wars saga and flips it around to expose the ugly underbelly of the Rebellion, The Jedi, and everything else.
This standalone show was the best way to hear "A Different Point of View" without those annoying Michael and Evo bumpers, and to find out why TD-0013 is everyone's favorite Stormtrooper. You also might also end up deciding that the Empire were the "good guys" all along.
For the past six films in the saga, you've heard the Rebels' side of the story. Now it's time for "A Different Point of View".
Wingin' It: The Adult Party Edition, might be one way to describe it.
The show that outgrew the Dragon Page nest, it had to fly on its own, and party 24/7 like it was living in a dream world mashup of Rio during Carnival, New Orleans at Mardi Gras, and Hedonism.
That was some party, one that occasionally brings a smile or a groan whenever a memory pops up. The reminder of what you did that weekend you were too drunk to remember a thing will be right here, waiting for you.
Wingin' It 3D: the third incarnation of a long, respected tradition of fine, fine entertainment. Well... WE think it was entertaining!
The mission was to provide our listeners with enjoyable banter, humorous content and hopefully a laugh or two. Our listeners were more than just our audience; they were active participants in this journey. We all enjoyed the same things -- geeky stuff, libations, and laughter -- and the fun was in finding common and uncommon ground in there to chat about.
